Anti-Narcotics Drive Targets Properties of Alleged Drug Peddlers in Kashmir
As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Srinagar Police have attached immovable properties worth approximately ₹4 crore belonging to two alleged drug traffickers. The action was taken under the NDPS Act after investigations linked the assets to proceeds generated through narcotics trafficking.
Continuing its campaign against narcotics trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan, Srinagar Police has attached immovable properties worth approximately ₹4 crore belonging to two individuals allegedly involved in drug trafficking activities.
In the first operation, Police Station Sangam attached assets valued at around ₹3 crore belonging to Gulam Ahmad Dar in connection with FIR No. 14/2026 registered under Section 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. The attached assets include a residential house, land parcels, and commercial shops.
According to police officials, investigations established that the properties had allegedly been acquired through proceeds generated from narcotics trafficking. Following the findings, authorities initiated attachment proceedings under the provisions of the NDPS Act.
In a separate action, Police Station Nowhatta attached a residential property worth approximately ₹1 crore belonging to Mohd Shafi Sheikh in connection with FIR No. 09/2018 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act. Investigators identified the property as an illegally acquired asset allegedly derived from drug trafficking activities.
Officials stated that the attachments are intended to dismantle the financial infrastructure of narcotics networks by targeting assets accumulated through illegal trade. The action also prevents the sale, transfer, lease, or creation of third-party interests in the attached properties pending further legal proceedings.
The latest operation underscores the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s continued focus on combating drug trafficking and curbing the narcotics trade by not only arresting offenders but also targeting the economic gains generated through such criminal activities.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations across the Union Territory and ensuring strict action against individuals involved in the illicit narcotics network.
