Abhishek Banerjee Aide Faces Second Day of CID Questioning in Land Case
TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee’s aide Sumit Roy appeared at the CID headquarters in Kolkata for the second consecutive day of questioning in an alleged government land fraud case in Paschim Medinipur.
KOLKATA: TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee’s aide Sumit Roy on Sunday appeared at the CID headquarters at Bhabani Bhaban in Kolkata for the second consecutive day of questioning in connection with an alleged government land fraud case in Paschim Medinipur district, officials said.
Roy had remained untraced for several weeks before appearing at the CID headquarters on Saturday for questioning following an order of the Supreme Court.
The CID questioned Roy for approximately 10 hours on Saturday in connection with the alleged government land fraud case. He returned to Bhabani Bhaban on Sunday as investigators continued their questioning.


The case concerns alleged irregularities involving government land in Paschim Medinipur, with the CID continuing its investigation into the matter.
