West Bengal Police Recover Gun and Live Round During Tip-Off Raid

A 43-year-old man was arrested on Thursday in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district after police allegedly recovered a country-made firearm and a live round of ammunition hidden inside a duck cage at his residence. The recovery was made during a raid conducted by the Rahara Police Station.

According to police, the operation was carried out at Sadarhat near Mantur Gola in Bandipur following a tip-off about illegal possession of firearms. During the search, officers allegedly discovered the weapon and ammunition concealed inside the duck enclosure.

The accused, identified as Hakim Ali, allegedly attempted to flee after noticing the police team. However, he was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody. Police have launched an investigation to determine the source of the firearm and whether it was linked to any criminal activity.
