Enforcement Directorate Searches Kolkata Deputy Commissioner’s Home

The Enforcement Directorate conducted raids on Sunday at premises linked to Kolkata Police Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sinha Biswas and another individual as part of a money laundering investigation in poll-bound West Bengal.

Officials said two premises connected to Biswas, including his residence in the Ballygunge area of Kolkata, were searched under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). A location linked to Joy Kamdar, Managing Director of Sun Enterprise, was also searched.

The action is reportedly connected to an investigation involving alleged local criminal Biswajit Podder, alias Sona Pappu, who is booked in multiple cases including attempted murder and extortion.
