Security forces arrested six militants belonging to various banned outfits during separate operations conducted across three districts of Manipur, police officials said on Tuesday.

According to a police statement, four members of the outlawed People’s Liberation Army were apprehended from the Nongada Chana area under the jurisdiction of Lamlai Police Station in Imphal East district on Monday.

Police alleged that the militants had detained three youths with the intention of forcibly recruiting them into the banned organisation. Security personnel successfully rescued the youths during the operation.

Officials said additional arrests were made in other districts during coordinated anti-insurgency actions targeting militant networks and illegal activities.

Security agencies have intensified operations in Manipur in recent months as part of efforts to curb insurgent activity, recover illegal arms, and maintain law and order in sensitive regions.

The arrested militants are being interrogated, and further investigations are underway to identify their associates, recruitment channels, and possible involvement in other unlawful activities.
