Kerala School Warden, Cook Arrested for Alleged Assault of 12-Year-Old Boy

Accused booked under Juvenile Justice Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in Punalur case

In a disturbing incident in Kollam district, a warden and a cook of a private boarding school near Punalur have been arrested for allegedly physically assaulting a 12-year-old student.

According to police, the cook suspected the child of stealing ₹500 and allegedly subjected him to severe abuse, including hanging him upside down a few days ago. The warden is accused of assisting in the act.

Following a complaint, both individuals were taken into custody by local police and booked under relevant provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Authorities said further investigation is underway, and appropriate legal action will be pursued.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety and well-being of children in residential educational institutions, prompting calls for stricter oversight and accountability.
