Deadly Blast Hits Bus in Southwest Colombia
In Colombia, at least seven people were killed and more than 17 others injured after an explosive device detonated on a bus travelling along the Pan-American Highway in Cajibio in the country’s southwest.
Octavio Guzman said the device was triggered while the bus was in transit.
Hugo Lopez described the blast as a terrorist act.
He blamed networks linked to Ivan Mordisco and the Jaime Martinez group.
Authorities said both groups consist of former members of the now-defunct Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia who continue to operate in the region and did not join the 2016 peace agreement with the government.
Security forces have launched an investigation into the incident, while emergency teams are assisting the injured.
