Peaceful Voting Ends for Tripura ADC Election

Voting concluded peacefully for the election to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). Polling was held across all eight districts of the northeastern state, with 1,257 booths set up to ensure smooth voting. Long queues of voters, including women, elderly and first-time voters, were seen at polling stations in West Tripura, Sepahijala and Gomati districts.

A minor disruption was reported at a polling station near Khumulwng due to an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) malfunction, which was quickly resolved. 

The tribal council comprises two-third of the state’s total geographical area and is home to around 15 lakh people, mostly indigenous tribes
