Prime Suspect Held in West Bengal Bomb Explosion Probe
National Investigation Agency on Sunday arrested a prime accused in the West Bengal bomb explosion case in which one person was killed and three others were seriously injured last month.
The accused, Ahidul Islam Molla, is a resident of the Bijoyganj Bazar area in South 24 Parganas district.
According to the agency, he was arrested after a detailed examination of his alleged role in the explosion that took place at Dakshin Bamunia village.
Investigators said Ahidul Islam was a co-conspirator in the incident and was allegedly involved in the preparation of bombs as well as destruction of evidence after the blast.
The explosion last month had left one person dead and three others with serious injuries.
The NIA said further investigation into the conspiracy and involvement of other accused persons is continuing.
