Rainfall Likely in Multiple Bengal Districts Until June 13

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a spell of thunderstorms and rainfall across several districts of south Bengal, bringing potential relief from the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions that have affected the region in recent days.

According to meteorologists, a favorable wind pattern coupled with significant moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal is expected to trigger thunderstorms accompanied by strong surface winds across parts of southern West Bengal. The changing weather pattern is likely to moderate temperatures and improve overall comfort levels for residents.

The IMD has indicated that districts including Purulia, Birbhum, Murshidabad, Purba Bardhaman, Paschim Bardhaman, Nadia, Bankura, Howrah, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, and South 24 Parganas are likely to experience rainfall or thunderstorm activity through June 13.

Weather experts believe the incoming moisture and convective activity could lead to intermittent showers, lightning, and gusty winds in several locations. While the rainfall is expected to provide relief from oppressive humidity, residents have been advised to remain cautious during thunderstorm events, particularly in open areas and during periods of strong winds.
