Orange Alert for Odisha as IMD Warns of Heavy to Very Heavy Rain
The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange warning for Odisha for heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over the next two to three days. Several other states and regions are also expected to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for Odisha, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over the next two to three days.
The weather department has also predicted heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Rajasthan during the next two days.
Similar weather conditions are expected over Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Sikkim and Madhya Pradesh. These regions are likely to experience periods of heavy rain along with thunderstorms and lightning.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar are also likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning. The widespread weather activity has prompted heightened attention in areas vulnerable to heavy rainfall, lightning and associated disruptions.
