Delhi Police Crack Down on Gang Networks
Delhi Police have intensified their crackdown on organized crime under “Operation Shastra 2,” a large-scale coordinated drive targeting gang networks across the capital and adjoining NCR regions.
Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Singh said the operation involved around 430 personnel and 24 special teams carrying out raids across Delhi, Sonipat, Bahadurgarh, and other NCR areas. So far, 84 persons have been rounded up, with eight arrests made and six others apprehended for further questioning.
Police recovered six pistols — including one sophisticated Italian-made weapon, one Korean-made pistol, and four country-made firearms — along with 52 live cartridges, 12 mobile phones, two knives, one car, and 12 two-wheelers. Investigators said several notorious gangs, including the Gogi gang, Tillu gang, Cheeta gang, Amit Maan gang, Rajesh Bhavana gang, and Mahoba gang, have emerged in the probe, marking a significant step in efforts to curb gang-related crime in the region.
