JSW Energy Raises ₹4,000 Crore via QIP Issue
JSW Energy on Monday announced that it has raised ₹4,000 crore through a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) by issuing 7.61 crore equity shares to institutional investors.
JSW Energy on Monday said it has successfully raised ₹4,000 crore through the issuance of 7.61 crore equity shares under the Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) route.
According to a company statement, the finance committee of the board approved the closure of the issue following the receipt of application forms and funds from eligible qualified institutional buyers in accordance with the terms of the offering.
The company’s board approved the allotment of 7,61,90,476 equity shares at an issue price of ₹525 per share. The issue price represented a discount of ₹9.05 per share, or 1.69 per cent, compared with the floor price of ₹534.05.

Qualified Institutional Placement is a commonly used fundraising mechanism through which listed companies raise capital from institutional investors without undergoing extensive regulatory procedures associated with public offerings.
The fresh capital is expected to strengthen JSW Energy’s financial position and support its ongoing expansion plans in the power and renewable energy sectors.
JSW Energy has been actively expanding its renewable energy portfolio as part of broader industry efforts to transition toward cleaner and sustainable energy sources in India.
