India’s Net Direct Tax Collection Crosses ₹8 Lakh Crore in FY27
The Income Tax Department has collected more than ₹8.11 lakh crore in net direct taxes so far in the financial year 2026-27, marking a 23.09% increase over the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
The Income Tax Department has collected more than ₹8.11 lakh crore in net direct taxes for the financial year 2026-27 as of August 10, recording a 23.09% increase compared with the corresponding period of financial year 2025-26.
The collection comprises more than ₹2.70 lakh crore in corporate tax and around ₹5.07 lakh crore in non-corporate tax, according to the department.
The Income Tax Department has also issued refunds exceeding ₹1.43 lakh crore during the period.
On a gross basis, direct tax collections have recorded growth of more than 19%, crossing ₹9.54 lakh crore. The figures indicate sustained growth in direct tax collections during the current financial year.
