The aircraft involved was an Airbus A320 operating flight AI2802 between Bengaluru and Delhi. Airline officials stated that the flight crew followed all standard operating procedures after the suspected technical issue was detected.
In an official statement, the airline confirmed that the aircraft landed safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport and that all passengers and crew members safely disembarked from the aircraft without any injuries or panic.
Airport authorities and technical teams are expected to carry out a detailed inspection of the aircraft to determine the exact cause of the suspected engine fire. Emergency response teams were reportedly kept on standby during the landing as a precautionary measure.
