Suspect Killed in Police Action After Prem Nagar Robbery

A suspected robber was killed in a police encounter in Dehradun following a robbery and shooting incident reported late Tuesday night.

According to Pramendra Dobal, police received a distress call via emergency number 112 at around 10:35 PM from a victim who claimed he was robbed and shot while returning from Paundha Road under Premnagar police station limits.

A combing operation was launched across the city, during which police intercepted a suspicious vehicle bearing a Gujarat registration number. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspects allegedly tried to flee, leading to an exchange of fire.

During the encounter, a police inspector sustained bullet injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. One of the suspects was shot in the crossfire and later died at the hospital, while others managed to escape.

Police said the looted cash and other items have been recovered, and efforts are underway to identify the deceased and trace the remaining accused.
