Major Honour for India as Army Chief Recognised in United States
General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Army War College in the United States, where he was inducted into the institution’s International Hall of Fame.
According to the Additional Directorate General of Public Information, Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Army), General Dwivedi is the third Indian Army Chief to receive the honour after V K Singh and Bikram Singh.
During the visit, the Chief of Army Staff addressed faculty members and international student officers on leadership, professional military education, and evolving global security dynamics.
A Distinguished Fellow of the college and an alumnus of the prestigious institution, General Dwivedi also toured key facilities and took part in academic engagements. These included panel discussions, reviewing advanced study projects under the scholars programme, and interacting with distinguished members of the institution.
The visit is seen as a reflection of growing defence cooperation and professional military exchanges between India and the United States.
