Scorching Heat Likely in Northwest, Central and East India

The India Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert as scorching weather conditions are expected to prevail across several parts of the country in the coming days.

According to the forecast, intense heat is likely to affect Northwest India over the next four to five days, while regions in Central India and East India may experience severe heat for the next two to three days.

Authorities have advised people to stay hydrated, avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak afternoon hours, and take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses such as dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke.

Residents are also urged to wear light clothing, remain indoors whenever possible, and check on children, elderly people, and vulnerable individuals during the heatwave period.
