Tipra Motha Retains Power with Landslide Victory in Tripura Tribal Council Polls
The Tipra Motha Party has retained power in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) with a commanding majority in the latest elections. According to official results, the party won 24 of the 28 seats, securing more than a two-thirds majority in the council.
The Bharatiya Janata Party won the remaining four seats. The outcome marks a significant improvement for Tipra Motha compared to the 2021 TTAADC elections, when it had won 18 seats, while the BJP secured nine and one seat went to an independent candidate.
The result strengthens Tipra Motha’s hold over the influential tribal council and is expected to have wider political implications in Tripura.
