couple arrested for duping contractor of Rs 35 lakh

Bihar Police on Tuesday arrested a husband-wife duo for allegedly duping a contractor of Rs 34.74 lakh by posing as senior government officials and promising to secure contracts, officials said on Wednesday.

The accused have been identified as Sunny Kumar Rai and his wife Shraddhanjali Devi.

Madhepura DSP (Headquarters) Manoj Mohan said, “Both accused were arrested from Patna following raids and sent to judicial custody. The woman allegedly impersonated an IAS officer, while Rai acted as her bodyguard. They used a vehicle fitted with a fake government placard to mislead people.”
