The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced re-tests for three papers of the UGC-NET June 2026 examination following complaints regarding several errors in the question papers.

The re-test will cover the English, Commerce and Sociology papers. According to the schedule announced by NTA, the English paper will be conducted on September 9 from 9 am to 12 noon in Shift 1.

The Commerce paper will also be held on September 9, from 3 pm to 6 pm in Shift 2. The Sociology paper will be conducted on September 10 from 9 am to 12 noon in Shift 1.

The NTA conducted the UGC-NET June 2026 examination from June 22 to June 30 across 87 subjects. The examination is conducted for determining eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as an Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes.

Following complaints about errors in the three papers, the NTA constituted a committee to examine the issues. After reviewing the matter, the committee recommended that the affected papers be conducted again in the interest of ensuring a fair and error-free examination.
