The Information and Cultural Affairs Department of Tripura organised a central tribute programme at Mukta Dhara Auditorium to commemorate the death anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman, Vice-Chairman of the State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty, Information and Cultural Affairs Department Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya, and noted Rabindra scholar Meenakshi Bhattacharya attended the programme.

During the event, speakers reflected on Tagore’s humanistic values, philosophy and literary contributions. They also emphasised the importance of encouraging the younger generation to develop a deeper interest in Tagore’s extensive body of work and understand its continuing relevance.

The tribute programme also featured cultural performances by artists from various organisations. Dance, music and recitations formed part of the programme, providing a cultural presentation of Tagore’s enduring artistic and literary legacy.
