Ahead of the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly Election 2026, Kolkata Police has set up a central control room at Lalbazar to monitor security and ensure smooth conduct of polling.

Vidit Raj Bhundesh said the special control room has multiple teams working in a structured format, segregated Assembly Constituency-wise and division-wise.

He added that officers are tracking the movement of security forces deployed on the ground, while dedicated complaint teams are handling grievances based on divisions and constituencies, ensuring real-time disposal of complaints.

Authorities have strengthened surveillance and coordination measures in Kolkata as voting for the second phase of the assembly elections gets underway.
