Political Showdown: Amit Shah Vows Crackdown on ‘15 Years of Corruption’ in Bengal Manifesto
KOLKATA: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today turned the West Bengal election into a “crusade against corruption” as he unveiled the BJP’s Sankalpa Patra. The manifesto is built on the foundation of a “Zero Tolerance” policy against political violence and financial irregularities. Shah promised that a BJP government would release a “White Paper” on the administrative failures of the TMC government since 2011.
Beyond the headline promise of ₹3,000 for women, the manifesto focuses heavily on structural reforms. This includes the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) within six months and the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the numerous recruitment and ration scams that have dogged the state.
“We are not here to just win seats; we are here to dismantle the networks of corruption that have paralyzed Bengal’s youth,” Shah declared. The manifesto also emphasizes the “Detect, Delete, and Deport” strategy for illegal infiltration, a move that is expected to further polarize the electorate in the border districts. The TMC has countered the manifesto, calling it a “document of lies and division,” setting the stage for an explosive final campaign week.
