Mamata Raises Poll Code Concerns Over PM Address to Nation

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of misusing government machinery for political campaigning ahead of the state Assembly elections.

Addressing a rally in Tarakeswar, Banerjee alleged that Modi carried out an illegal campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party through his recent address to the nation on the women’s quota bill.

She said her party would lodge a complaint with the Election Commission of India, alleging violation of the Model Code of Conduct during the poll period.
