EC Orders Repoll in All 285 Booths of Falta Assembly Seat
Fresh voting on May 21 after “severe electoral offences” flagged in South 24 Parganas
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered a complete repoll in all 285 polling booths of the Falta assembly constituency in South 24 Parganas.
The decision follows reports of “severe electoral offences and subversion of the democratic process” during polling held on April 29 as part of the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections.
According to officials, fresh voting will be conducted on May 21 from 7 am to 6 pm across all polling stations, including auxiliary booths, under stringent security arrangements.
The Commission emphasized that enhanced measures will be put in place to ensure a free, fair, and transparent electoral process during the repoll.
The move marks a significant intervention by the poll body to uphold electoral integrity in the constituency.
