9 died after a car fell into a well in Shivaji Nagar area of Dindori

In Maharashtra, A car fell into a water-filled well in Shivaji Nagar, Dindori, last night, killing nine members of the same family. They were returning home after attending an event when the driver lost control and the car plunged into the well. According to preliminary information, all the victims belong to one family and were residents of Indore village in Dindori taluka.

The family was returning from a social gathering when their car reportedly went out of control and fell into a water-filled well situated along the roadside. Rescue operations continued late into the night, with teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed at the scene. However, efforts were hampered by a large crowd that had gathered at the site. The rescue teams recovered the vehicle, and the police have registered a case.

Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan says, “This is a very tragic accident. There were 6 children, 2 women, and one driver in the car… The car fell into the well at night. All 9 people died… How can there be a well in the middle? This is a very big mistake by the officials. We have ordered an investigation. The families of the deceased will be given 5 lakh rupees from the administration.”
