Hot and Uncomfortable Conditions Expected Across Tripura Districts
The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning of hot and uncomfortable weather conditions across several districts of Tripura over the next three days due to intense heat and high humidity.
According to the forecast, maximum temperatures in many parts of the state are likely to touch 36 degrees Celsius or above, which is around 2 to 4 degrees higher than normal for this time of the year.
Dr Partha Roy said that during the past 24 hours, the highest temperature recorded in the state was 36.6 degrees Celsius, which is 3.3 degrees above normal. He added that this is the highest temperature recorded so far in April.
Officials also noted that above-normal relative humidity levels are worsening discomfort, making weather conditions more oppressive for residents.
The weather department has issued precautionary advisories urging people to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and take necessary steps to prevent heat-related illnesses.
