Suvendu Adhikari remembered Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore on his birth anniversary, calling him an “eternal star” of Bengali literature and culture.
Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday paid tribute to Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore on the occasion of his birth anniversary, praising his lasting contribution to literature, culture and humanity.
In a post shared on X, Adhikari described Tagore as an “eternal star” in the world of Bengali literature and culture whose works continue to inspire generations.
He said Tagore’s “immortal creations, humanitarian philosophy and patriotism” have guided people across ages and remain deeply relevant even today.
Referring to Tagore’s famous words from Gitanjali — “Where the mind is without fear, and the head held high” — Adhikari expressed hope that humanity would continue to progress by following the poet’s ideals.
‘On the poet-sage’s birth anniversary, I pay my humble tribute to him,” he said.
Rabindranath Tagore, the first Asian Nobel laureate in literature, remains one of India’s most celebrated literary and cultural figures, known for works spanning poetry, music, philosophy, education and nationalism.
His birth anniversary is observed across West Bengal and other parts of the country through cultural programmes, literary events and tributes.
