Heatwave in Central and Southern States, Heavy Rainfall Likely in Northeast
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heatwave conditions in several parts of the country, including East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, North Interior Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Madhya Maharashtra over the next two days.
The weather agency has also warned of hot and humid conditions likely to persist for the next three days in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Coastal Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall is expected over Assam and Meghalaya tomorrow. Similar weather conditions are likely to affect Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on April 18, according to the IMD.
