Ernakulam – Velankanni weekly special train…!

Southern Railway has announced that a weekly train will be operated from Ernakulam to Velankanni Basilica. It has been reported that this new train service will benefit devotees and the public. It is said that more people will benefit, especially since there will be a direct route to the holy place.

In the notification issued in this regard, it has been informed that the train will depart from Ernakulam Junction every Wednesday at 11.50 pm. The next day, Thursday, it will reach Velankanni at 5.35 pm. In the reverse direction, it will depart from Velankanni at 7.45 pm on Thursday and reach Ernakulam Junction at 11.55 am on Friday.

The fact that this train is running via Madurai is seen as a plus. There has been a demand for a direct train from Madurai to Velankanni for a long time. Now that the weekly train service has started, the people of the southern district have also got the facility to travel directly to Velankanni.
