India’s first virtual zoo has been launched in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, adding technology-based attractions to the city’s existing zoo facilities.
Along with the virtual zoo, a 14-D cinema theatre and a virtual jungle safari have also been opened at the Indore Zoo.
The 14-D cinema and virtual jungle safari have been developed under the public-private partnership (PPP) model at a cost of around Rs 4.5 crore.
The virtual jungle safari will allow visitors to experience forests and wildlife through immersive technology without having to physically enter a forest environment. The facility is expected to provide an interactive way for visitors to learn about wildlife and natural habitats.
The new 14-D cinema is designed to provide visitors with an enhanced movie-watching experience using immersive technology.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav inaugurated the new facilities on Sunday. During the event, he also watched a film in the 14-D cinema along with schoolchildren.
The new attractions are expected to provide children and tourists with an engaging way to learn about wildlife, forests and nature while experiencing modern digital technology.
