In Assam, security forces have apprehended one ULFA (Independent) cadre, ten Over Ground Workers (OGWs), and four alleged drug dealers with links to anti-national elements during a series of joint operations carried out in April 2026.

The operations were conducted by the Indian Army’s Red Shield Gunners under the aegis of Spear Corps in coordination with Assam Police across the Upper Assam districts of Tinsukia, Charaideo and Sivasagar.
