Petrol, Diesel, CNG Only for PUC-Certified Vehicles
In a major move to curb vehicular pollution, the Government of Delhi has announced that vehicles without a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate will no longer be allowed to purchase fuel such as petrol, diesel, CNG, or LPG at fuel stations across Delhi.
Under the new directive, fuel will be supplied strictly and exclusively to vehicles carrying a valid PUC certificate. The government said the decision has been taken to strengthen pollution control measures and reduce harmful emissions in the national capital.
Authorities stated that accountability has been clearly assigned to all concerned departments and agencies to ensure zero tolerance in implementation. All petrol pumps and gas outlets have been instructed to comply fully with the order, with warnings of strict action in case of any lapse or negligence.
Rekha Gupta said the government remains committed to ensuring a clean and healthy environment while improving Delhi’s air quality through sustained and comprehensive action. She added that tackling air pollution requires firm and effective interventions, and the new decision is an important step in that direction.
