Kolkata Gets India’s First Oracle AI Data Platform Lab
Tata Consultancy Services has unveiled India’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Centre of Excellence in Kolkata, marking a significant step in advancing enterprise AI adoption. Developed in collaboration with Oracle, the initiative aims to help organisations overcome data challenges and accelerate large-scale digital transformation.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Friday announced the launch of India’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Kolkata, reinforcing its commitment to helping enterprises harness the power of artificial intelligence and data-driven innovation.
The new facility, located at Delta Park Lords, has been established in partnership with Oracle and is designed to support organisations seeking to modernise their data ecosystems and accelerate AI adoption across business operations.
According to TCS, the lab will enable enterprises to address a range of persistent challenges, including fragmented data systems, slow analytics processes, limited scalability of AI initiatives, and operational inefficiencies that often hinder digital transformation efforts.

The Centre of Excellence will leverage the capabilities of the Oracle AI Data Platform, an integrated solution that combines Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and OCI Enterprise AI technologies.
By bringing these technologies together, the platform aims to help businesses prepare enterprise data for AI applications, streamline data management, and deploy intelligent solutions at scale. Organisations will be able to build AI-powered applications, automate processes, and generate actionable insights from their data more efficiently.
Industry experts believe that such collaborative innovation hubs can play a vital role in bridging the gap between emerging technologies and practical business implementation. The initiative is also expected to support enterprises across sectors in accelerating their digital transformation journeys while enhancing productivity and competitiveness.

For Kolkata, the establishment of the lab further strengthens the city’s growing reputation as an emerging technology and innovation destination. It also reflects the increasing focus of Indian IT companies on developing advanced capabilities in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and enterprise data management.
The launch comes at a time when businesses worldwide are investing heavily in AI technologies to optimise operations, improve decision-making, and unlock new growth opportunities in an increasingly data-driven economy.
