Hero MotoCorp is confident of strengthening its market leadership with double-digit growth in the financial year 2026-27 and plans to launch more than 12 new products during the period, the company’s CEO Harshavardhan Chitale said.

In an interview, Chitale stated that the company sees scooters as one of its major “growth vectors,” driven by strong consumer demand for both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric models.

He added that Hero MotoCorp expects electric scooters to account for over 50 per cent of its overall scooter sales by 2030, reflecting the company’s growing focus on electric mobility and sustainable transportation solutions.

According to Chitale, the company is also actively working on multiple low-emission powertrain technologies to remain ahead of industry trends and maintain its leadership position in the competitive two-wheeler market.

The comments come at a time when India’s automotive industry is witnessing rapid transformation driven by stricter emission norms, government incentives for electric vehicles, and increasing consumer preference for eco-friendly mobility solutions.

Hero MotoCorp, one of the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturers, has been expanding its electric vehicle portfolio while continuing to strengthen its traditional motorcycle and scooter business. Industry analysts believe the company’s aggressive product pipeline could help it tap into both urban and rural demand segments in the coming years.
