West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday.

This was Adhikari’s first official meeting with the Prime Minister in the national capital after assuming office as the Chief Minister of West Bengal on May 9.

The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the meeting through a post on X, stating: “Chief Minister of West Bengal, Shri @SuvenduWB met Prime Minister @narendramodi.”

While details of the discussions were not officially disclosed, such meetings between chief ministers and the Prime Minister generally involve issues related to governance, development projects, administrative coordination, and state-centre relations.

The meeting assumes significance amid ongoing political developments in West Bengal and comes shortly after Adhikari took charge as the state’s chief minister.
