Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Gets Expanded Pilgrim Accommodation
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has dedicated the newly constructed Vaishnavi Bhawan to devotees at the revered Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. The modern facility is aimed at improving accommodation capacity and enhancing amenities for the increasing number of pilgrims visiting the shrine annually.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has formally dedicated the newly built Vaishnavi Bhawan at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine to devotees, marking a major step toward strengthening pilgrim infrastructure at one of India’s most visited religious destinations.
Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Sinha said the new facility would significantly improve accommodation capacity and provide modern, efficient, and comfortable amenities for pilgrims visiting the shrine throughout the year.

The project was developed under the comprehensive master plan for the Bhawan and adjoining areas. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board had approved the redevelopment of the Pannishalla area, which was previously used as staff quarters, into a combined Yatri-cum-Staff Accommodation Complex aimed at enhancing infrastructure and lodging facilities.
Constructed over an area of nearly 45,784 square feet, the new Vaishnavi Bhawan includes 78 well-furnished rooms for devotees. Officials stated that construction work on the project began in February 2024 and was completed within two years.
The initiative is expected to improve the overall pilgrimage experience by offering better accommodation and support services to the large number of devotees visiting the shrine annually. Authorities believe the upgraded infrastructure will help manage growing pilgrim footfall more efficiently while ensuring greater comfort and convenience.
