SJVN Cuts Quarterly Loss as Income Surges
State-run power company SJVN on Friday reported a reduction in its consolidated loss for the March quarter of FY26
SJVN on Friday reported a narrowing of its consolidated loss for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2026, primarily driven by a substantial increase in income.
According to an exchange filing, the company posted a consolidated loss of Rs 117.84 crore during the January-March quarter, compared to a loss of Rs 127.72 crore recorded during the same period in the previous financial year.
The company’s total income during the quarter witnessed a sharp increase, rising nearly threefold to Rs 1,548.46 crore from Rs 548.84 crore reported in the corresponding quarter a year earlier.
Industry observers noted that the significant rise in income helped reduce the overall loss despite operational and sector-related challenges.
SJVN is engaged in power generation and infrastructure development, with operations spanning hydroelectric, thermal, solar, and renewable energy projects across India and abroad.
The performance comes at a time when the power and renewable energy sector continues to witness expansion driven by rising electricity demand, infrastructure investments, and the government’s focus on clean energy development.
Analysts are expected to closely track the company’s future earnings performance, project execution, and renewable energy initiatives in the coming quarters.
