The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has revised the release schedule for the Provisional Estimates of Annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the Quarterly GDP Estimates for the fourth quarter.

Under the revised system, the data will now be released on June 7 every year instead of the last working day of May. The ministry clarified that if June 7 falls on a holiday, the estimates will be published on the previous working day.

According to the ministry, the decision was taken after consultations with the Advisory Committee on National Accounts Statistics.

Officials said the revised schedule is intended to further strengthen the quality, coverage, and reliability of national accounts data. The additional time is expected to improve the accuracy and robustness of economic indicators used in GDP compilation.

The ministry added that the move is part of its broader efforts to enhance statistical systems and ensure more comprehensive data collection and analysis for measuring the country’s economic performance.
