Former West Bengal minister and Sujit Bose appeared before the Enforcement Directorate on Monday in connection with the alleged municipality recruitment scam, officials said.

Bose arrived at the ED office located at the CGO Complex in Salt Lake around 10.30 am. He was accompanied by his son, Samudra Bose.

According to officials, the questioning relates to an ongoing investigation into alleged recruitment irregularities linked to the South Dum Dum Municipality.

This is not the first time the central agency has summoned Bose in connection with the case. The ED has been probing allegations of irregular appointments and possible financial transactions connected to municipal recruitment processes.

Investigators are reportedly examining documents, recruitment procedures, and financial records as part of the wider probe into alleged corruption in civic body appointments.

The municipality recruitment case has emerged as one of several politically sensitive investigations in West Bengal involving allegations of irregularities in public sector hiring.

The ED has intensified its scrutiny of multiple individuals connected to the case as it attempts to trace the alleged money trail and identify those responsible for the purported irregularities.
