Bird flu has resurfaced in Navapur in Nandurbar district, with authorities confirming the presence of the H5N1 virus, triggering alarm among poultry farmers.

Officials have ordered immediate containment measures, including culling of all birds within a one-kilometre radius of affected farms. Blood samples from poultry units are also being collected and sent for testing to laboratories in Bhopal.

Arif Balochia said the outbreak has caused significant concern in the farming community, especially as this is the third such incident in the region, raising fears of substantial financial losses.

Authorities are focusing on strict biosecurity protocols to prevent further spread, while farmers await compensation and support measures to mitigate the economic impact.

The situation is being closely monitored, with further steps likely depending on test results and containment success.
