All India Trinamool Congress has filed a writ petition in the Calcutta High Court alleging “serious misconduct” by Police Observer Parmar Parshottamdas during the ongoing West Bengal Assembly elections.

According to the petition, the party has accused the observer of holding an unofficial meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Gour Ghosh.

The alleged meeting is said to have involved the candidate from Magrahat Paschim Assembly constituency, also identified as constituency number 142.

The TMC has sought judicial intervention over what it termed a breach of neutrality and misconduct by an election-related official.

The matter adds to rising political tensions and allegations between rival parties ahead of polling in the state.
