India-Uzbekistan Joint Military Exercise ‘Dustlik 2026’ Begins in Uzbekistan
The seventh edition of the annual India-Uzbekistan bilateral military exercise “Dustlik” has commenced at the Gurumsaray Field Training Area in Namangan, Uzbekistan, marking another step forward in defence cooperation between the two nations.
The joint exercise is aimed at boosting operational coordination between the Indian Army and the Uzbekistan Army, particularly in conducting special operations focused on neutralising unlawful armed groups.
The Indian Army said the exercise underscores the shared commitment of both countries toward global peace and security, while deepening military partnership, mutual trust, and camaraderie. Major General Saidov Oybek Azadovich, Commander of Uzbekistan’s Eastern Military District, attended the opening ceremony as chief guest. The exercise will continue until April 25.
