Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad late last night with a senior delegation, signalling renewed diplomatic efforts to revive stalled negotiations between Iran and the United States over the ongoing West Asia conflict.

The Iranian delegation includes Esmaeil Baqaei, who said in a social media post that no direct meeting is planned between Iran and the United States. He stated that Tehran’s concerns and positions would instead be conveyed to Washington through Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the United States is also preparing diplomatic outreach, with special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner expected to arrive in Islamabad for talks.

Karoline Leavitt confirmed the development and said discussions would be conducted directly. She added that JD Vance would remain engaged from Washington, D.C. in coordination with Marco Rubio and the national security team.

Donald Trump said Iran is preparing to make an offer intended to meet US demands as talks are expected to resume in Pakistan. He reiterated that any agreement must include Iran giving up enriched uranium and ensuring free movement of oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.

Before departing Tehran, Araghchi said he would also visit Oman and Russia for consultations on bilateral ties and regional developments.
