The minimum temperature recorded a slight rise on Saturday as the India Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert for the day, warning of possible heatwave conditions in isolated parts of New Delhi.

Safdarjung Observatory, considered the representative weather station of the city, recorded a minimum temperature of 25.2 degrees Celsius, which is 2.5 degrees above normal and 0.7 degree higher than the previous day.

Other weather stations across the national capital also reported a marginal increase in minimum temperatures.

The development comes a day after isolated parts of the city witnessed the season’s first heatwave conditions.

Authorities have advised residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours, and take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses.
