First Batch of 371 Hajj Pilgrims Departs from Delhi for Mecca
The first batch of 371 pilgrims for Hajj 2026 departed for Mecca in Saudi Arabia from New Delhi today, marking the beginning of this year’s annual pilgrimage season from India. The pilgrims left from Indira Gandhi International Airport, where the inaugural flight was flagged off by Dr Srivatsa Krishna.
Addressing the pilgrims, Dr Krishna extended his best wishes for a safe, smooth, and spiritually fulfilling journey. Kausar Jahan, Chairperson of the Delhi Hajj Committee, said coordinated arrangements have been made to support pilgrims throughout the process.
Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also conveyed his greetings and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a comfortable and well-managed Hajj pilgrimage experience for all travellers.
