Deccan Warriors Drop Points After Early Lead

Sreenidi Deccan FC and Shillong Lajong FC settled for a 1-1 draw in a championship phase fixture of the Indian Football League on Sunday.

Sreenidi Deccan made a strong start to the contest as David Castañeda found the net in the ninth minute to hand the Deccan Warriors an early lead.

Shillong Lajong, however, responded strongly in the second half and managed to restore parity through a penalty converted by Phrangki Buam.

The match remained closely contested after the equaliser, with both teams pushing for a winning goal but ultimately settling for a point each.

Rudra Ved of Shillong Lajong was named the Player of the Match for his impressive performance during the encounter.

The result keeps both sides competitive in the championship phase as the race for higher positions in the league table continues.
