Trump Rejects Iran’s Proposal, Escalation Fears Rise Amid West Asia Violence
Diplomatic deadlock deepens as Lebanon sees deadly strikes and mounting humanitarian crisis
Donald Trump has rejected Iran’s latest proposal aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict, casting fresh doubts over the possibility of a negotiated settlement.
Iran had submitted a revised offer through mediators, with state-linked outlets confirming the move. While acknowledging that Iran had made some progress in negotiations, Trump said the proposal still included demands he could not accept, highlighting continued mistrust between the two sides.
Iranian media, including the Fars News Agency, reported that the country’s leadership remains actively engaged, pushing back against speculation of internal instability.
Meanwhile, the situation in West Asia has grown increasingly volatile. In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes reportedly killed more than 30 people in a single day, including children, raising concerns about violations of a recent ceasefire.
Strikes targeted civilian infrastructure in the southern city of Tyre, while evacuation orders were issued in several border towns. In response, Hezbollah launched retaliatory attacks, including a drone strike that injured Israeli soldiers.
The broader conflict has already resulted in over 2,000 deaths and displaced more than one million people, intensifying fears of a prolonged regional crisis.
