Election Commission of India has reported seizures worth more than ₹510 crore during the ongoing West Bengal Assembly elections.

According to the Commission, the seizures include cash, liquor, drugs, precious metals, and other inducements allegedly intended to influence voters.

The poll body said a series of high-level review meetings were held with Chief Secretaries, Chief Electoral Officers, Directors General of Police, and senior officials from poll-bound states, Union Territories, and neighbouring regions.

The Commission emphasised that all officials have been directed to ensure elections free from violence, intimidation, and inducements.

As part of the enforcement measures, over 2,728 Flying Squad teams have been deployed across the state.
